Community Nurses, Inc.
was established in 1929 when the Women's Club of St. Marys hired the first Community Nurse to provide healing services and health instruction to the homebound of the community. For over seven decades, our home health agency has provided in-home health care services for patients of all ages, from infants to the elderly.

Today, our broader mission, To Provide Quality Health Care Services In the Home And In The Community, encompasses all of Elk, Cameron and McKean Counties and areas Jefferson, Clearfield and Potter Counties in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

Community Nurses, Inc. is a community-based, voluntary, non-profit home health agency, and is the parent company of two subsidiary corporations that are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health:
  1. Community Nurses Home Health and Hospice, Inc. (CNHHH), our Medicare-Certified subsidiary.
  2.  Community Nurses Home Health Support Services, Inc. (CNHHSS), our Private Duty subsidiary.

Since 1997, our Community Nurses, Inc. parent company has been an affiliated subsidiary of Elk Regional Health System (ERHS). Community Nurses, Inc. works closely with Elk Regional (www.elkregional.org) to fulfill the system's mission To Improve the Health and Well Being of Our Communities.
