Regularly Scheduled Health Screenings

Community Nurses offers health screenings at our Agency offices and at various community locations on a regular basis. Click above for the dates, places and times of our community screenings.

Please note: Regularly scheduled screenings in the community will NOT be held during the months of June, July and August, 2008. Senior Center screenings will continue to be held during these months.
 

Support Groups & Educational Programs

Many people are dealing with special issues in their lives. Our support groups are focused on education, sharing, and meeting the needs of the participants. All of our support groups are facilitated by Community Nurses Professional Staff Members. There is no registration required for the meetings and no fees are charged. Confidentiality is respected.

Flu Shots

Our Elk Regional Health System Flu Coalition, is committed to making flu shots accessible for our at-risk population and the general public. The coalition offers flu shots during October and November at many sites in Elk, Cameron & McKean Counties. Sites, dates and times will be announced in the fall.
   
Safe Sitter Program
Safe Sitter is an national education program that teaches boys and girls, ages 11 to 15, to be medically responsible, creative and attentive babysitters. Our trained instructors offer this program each summer. Each class consists of two days of instruction on child care, safety, responses to emergencies, rescue breathing, and the proper business approach to babysitting. There is a minimal fee to cover the cost of instructional materials. Classes fill up quickly so call our office at 1-800-841-9397 now to register  for the next scheduled classes.
 
Speakers Bureau
Community Nurses staff members are available to speak to your community groups on a variety of topics such as Hospice, Home Health Services, Nutrition, Coping With Loss, Is It A Cold or The Flu, Cholesterol, Diabetes, Safe Sitter Program, etc. We have over 50 topics to choose from, and will speak on additional topics at your request. Just call our office to schedule a speaker!
 
 
Grief Workshops
Our Hospice Bereavement Coordinator offers Grief Workshops on an intermittent basis to anyone in our service area who has experienced the loss of a loved one. The workshops give a better understanding of the grief process, teach coping skills, and help participants through a very difficult time in their lives. Contact our Bereavement Coordinator for information on the next Grief Workshop.
